Our Story
Datong Academy began in 2014 as a small Chinese learning group of just three children.
In 2018, it was officially founded by Dr. Zhiwei Liu, a linguist who had previously taught at the College of Chinese Language and Culture, Beijing Normal University, and the Department of East Asian Studies, Princeton University.

Volunteer Reading Mentor
At Datong Avenue Academy, volunteers help children with their homework and reading after class.
This allows parents to save extra time on tutoring, while students become more motivated and engaged in their learning.
Make Up Policy
We offer a free after-class make-up policy — if you miss a lesson, there’s no need to worry about falling behind.
Your teacher will provide a one-on-one free make-up session to ensure you stay on track with your learning progress.
